Unleash your inner mutant and walk away with custom-made claw gauntlets, ready for action!
In this hands-on class, you’ll combine EVA foam and 3D-printed claws to create lightweight, durable gauntlets—perfect for cosplay, costumes, or display.
Day One: Construction - Learn essential foamsmithing techniques as you shape and assemble your gauntlets. Guided by your instructor, you'll practice working with EVA foam, securing pieces, and refining the silhouette.
Day Two: Paint & Finish – Customize your gauntlets and claws with paint, textures, and weathering effects to make your creation look like it leaped straight out of the films.
Class Duration: 2 hours, 2 Parts
Age Requirements: Teen 15+, Adult. (Please note that due to the materials and assembly work needed for this project, no participants under the age of 15 are permitted in this workshop.)
Recommended Prerequisite: Foamsmithing Workshop
Required Skills: Fine motor skills, use of contact cement and glues, the ability to use sanding tools and paint.

The Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for Orange County Library System. The library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in the Orlando Public Library include Children's, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children's Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity is located on the second floor. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
