Hand Sewing – Embroidered 2025 Phenology Sampler (2 Parts)

Fiber Arts Studio - Second FloorReflect on the cycles of our natural world with a embroidery sampler. Celebrate the natural cycles of our world with a monthly embroidery sampler. Students are required to bring materials.
Celebrate the natural cycles of our world with a monthly embroidery sampler. Each month a new pattern and stitch techniques will be introduced to sample. Students are encouraged to attend a variety of classes throughout the year but are not required to attend all sessions.
January: Let’s start at the beginning! During January’s sampler class, students will receive the base pattern outlining 2025. The commemorate the days growing longer starting in January, a sunrise illustration will be provided for this month’s sessions on 01/22/2025 and 01/29/2025.
- Class Duration: 2 hours,
- Age Requirements: Adult, Teen
- Recommended Prerequisite: Hand Sewing – Embroidery Level 1 and Embroidery Level 2

Required Skills: Ability to cut with scissors. Can complete a running stitch, back stitch, and chain stitch.
Required Materials: The following materials are needed to complete the project:
- 12 X 12 square canvas cotton or linen, medium weight
- Embroidery Needle - (#7 recommended)
- Embroidery floss or #8 Pearle Cotton
- Black
- White
- Red
- Orange
- Yellow
- Green
- Blue
- Purple
*If you do not have the suggested materials, please use any materials you have on hand. At the start of class, please inform the instructor if you are using materials other than those suggested.

Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in Orlando Public Library include Children’s, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children’s Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity is located on the second floor. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
