Teens Read 4 Hours is a teen volunteer program for reading approved books for community service hours. Teens must sign up at the Windermere Branch Library to receive information and book approval. A valid email for communication is required. Teens must also attend a Teens Read 4 Hours Book Club to have their hours signed-off on and approved.
Located in a small "Florida Cracker" style building, with an appealing wrap-around porch, the Windermere branch has an interesting history that spans over four decades. Begun as a town library, it became a branch of the Orange County Library System in August 1991. The current building was constructed through the efforts and the generous donations of many Windermere residents, including those of the Franklin P. Chase Family.
