MakeCode Arcade: Code a Game

South Trail - Computer LabLearn how to code and create a shark attack game with Microsoft MakeCode Arcade! Recommended for ages 6-12. Registration required.
Students will:
- Use logic to describe what we want a program to do
- Create our game/program using visual scripting
- Playtest and bugfix our code
Required Skills: 1st Grade Reading and Writing Level, Keyboard and Mouse Proficiency
To get the most out of this class, create a free account at arcade.makecode.com and bring your login information to class. This will allow you to take your work home with you. This class is part of a series, and we want to ensure that you get to keep all of your hard work!
*For the safety and comfort of children, a responsible adult or caregiver must accompany children 10 years of age or younger while they are using the Library. If there is available space, you are welcome to join your child in class. If not, or you would rather not join class, you must wait within view of classroom door.

South Trail Branch is located in the Orange Blossom Center, a shopping center next to numerous multi-family housing units. It is a welcoming and colorful library full of sunshine and a popular spot for children and families.
South Trail Branch began in 1965 as the Fort Gatlin Branch at 105 Gatlin Avenue and moved to the corner of Holden Avenue and South Orange Blossom Trail in 1981. The move across the street to the current site in the Orange Blossom Center took place in 1996.
