Virtual Room - SouthwestLearn the foundation knots needed in macramé projects while creating your very own keychain! Recommended for ages 6-12. Registration required.
*For the safety and comfort of students, an adult must be present to assist students with this virtual event.
Students will:
- Define macramé
- Learn what you can create with macramé
- Use macramé to create a keychain
Required Skills:
- Fine motor control for actions such as writing and handling yarn or fabric
- Hand-eye coordination for actions such as stitching or weaving
- Basic cutting and threading skills
Required Materials: Students should have the following materials to complete the project*:
- 4mm Macramé Cord - like Loops & Threads Cotton Cord
- (optional) Wooden Beads - like Creatology Beads
- Key Chain ring or hook with D-Ring (like Silver Rings or Swivel Hooks)
- Ruler
- Scissors
- *If you do not have the suggested materials, please use any materials you have on hand. At the start of class, please inform the instructor if you are using materials other than those suggested.
This is an online class hosted through Zoom. You will receive an email with a link to access Zoom before the event.
A computer with access to the internet and speakers or headsets are required. A webcam and microphone are suggested to fully participate. Please note that Zoom allows you to share your video and audio with the group. If you choose to enable these settings, you are consenting to appear on audio and video. This event is not being recorded and we ask that out of courtesy to the other participants, please refrain from screen captures, photography or resharing information about the participants or the discussion outside of this event.
If using a mobile device, Android and iOS users must install the Zoom App (App Store | Play Store). However, please note interactivity may be limited.
