Winter Garden - Technology LabCreate a stylish cross body bag. Learn to add a zippered front and elegant darts to shape the bag. Students are required to bring fabric and notions.

Class Duration: 4 parts, 2 hours per part
- Age Requirements: Ages 13–Adult with a completed Sewing Lab Waiver. Ages 13-17 must have a parent or guardian present to complete the Sewing Lab Waiver.

Recommended Prerequisite: Sewing - Introduction to the Sewing Machine, Sewing - Zippered Organizer

Required Skills: Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types and has completed several projects.
- Materials Fee: None
- Out of District Fee: $40 (includes class and materials fees)

Please Note: Students must bring a printed copy of the pattern or be able to access it on a mobile device. - Exterior Fabric: 1/2 yard 44" wide light-medium weight woven fabric or lightweight canvas
- Lining Fabric: 1/2 yard 44" wide light-medium weight quilting fabric
- Accent Fabric: 1/4 yard 44" wide light-medium weight woven fabric or lightweight canvas
- Fusible woven interfacing 1 3/4 yards (e.g. Pellon SF101 20" wide)
- Zipper - see pattern for size needed
- Note: Metal Grommets will be supplied in class

| Beginner | Someone has used a sewing machine before but may need aid on threading the machine and may need additional practice keeping an even seam allowance. |
| Confident Beginner | Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types and has completed several projects. |
| Intermediate | Someone who is comfortable with working and threading sewing machines, sewing patterns with markings and notations, has an understanding of fabric types and interfacing, and has experience with using a variety of tools, notions, and presser feet. |
| Advanced | Someone who is comfortable with working and threading both sewing machines and sergers, sewing patterns with markings and notations, has an understanding of both woven and knit fabric types and interfacing, and has experience using a wide variety of tools, notions, and presser feet. |

Built in 2005, Winter Garden branch sits at the westernmost part of Orange County. This was the last branch opened before the Great Recession of 2008. Interestingly, this is the only branch in the county built on donated land. Two acres were donated by the family of former citrus grove owner, Sylvester C. Battaglia. S.C. Battaglia’s philosophy, as stated by his son, was to “give back to the community.” The branch’s formal name S.C. Battaglia Memorial Branch, honors his contribution.
Winter Garden Branch has all the charm of a small town library plus all of the resources available through Orange County Library System. Noted for friendly and helpful staff, the branch is now serving a third generation of patrons.
