Celebrate the spooky season with a special storytime all about the creatures that come out when the moon is high and the lights are low! Perfect for preschoolers, this fun and festive program explores nocturnal animals and bugs—from hooting owls and fluttering bats to howling wolves and sneaky raccoons.
Through not-too-scary stories, crafts, and hands-on activities, little ones will learn all about the critters that go bump in the night. We'll explore how these creatures live, what they do after dark, and why they’re not so scary after all! Preschoolers will learn what it means to be nocturnal, explore the sounds of the night, and even pretend to be nighttime critters themselves! We’ll use our imaginations to creep, crawl, and fly through the night.

Built in 2005, Winter Garden branch sits at the westernmost part of Orange County. This was the last branch opened before the Great Recession of 2008. Interestingly, this is the only branch in the county built on donated land. Two acres were donated by the family of former citrus grove owner, Sylvester C. Battaglia. S.C. Battaglia’s philosophy, as stated by his son, was to “give back to the community.” The branch’s formal name S.C. Battaglia Memorial Branch, honors his contribution.
Winter Garden Branch has all the charm of a small town library plus all of the resources available through Orange County Library System. Noted for friendly and helpful staff, the branch is now serving a third generation of patrons.
