Knit a pumpkin - the perfect pattern for autumn! We'll add to your project possibilities by learning how to knit in the round on double-pointed needles and make unique, seamless pumpkins!
We'll follow the Spice & Clove Knit and Crochet Pumpkins pattern from Knitpicks. Spice is the knit pattern and Clove is the crochet version. We’ll learn how to cast on to double-point needles, knit and purl in the round, knit increases and decreases, and how to cast off. We’ll seam up the ends and stuff the pumpkin for a completed, cute little pumpkin.
*Required Materials: Students must bring the following materials to complete the project*:
Note: Knitting skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to knitting? Check out Knit Level 1.

Built in 2005, Winter Garden branch sits at the westernmost part of Orange County. This was the last branch opened before the Great Recession of 2008. Interestingly, this is the only branch in the county built on donated land. Two acres were donated by the family of former citrus grove owner, Sylvester C. Battaglia. S.C. Battaglia’s philosophy, as stated by his son, was to “give back to the community.” The branch’s formal name S.C. Battaglia Memorial Branch, honors his contribution.
Winter Garden Branch has all the charm of a small town library plus all of the resources available through Orange County Library System. Noted for friendly and helpful staff, the branch is now serving a third generation of patrons.
