Classic and versatile, the Boomerang shawl is a quick knit. The integrated I-cord edge gives the shawl structure and style.

Learn the anatomy of a boomerang shawl.  Knit a boomerang shawl with an integrated I-cord edge. This is a 2-part series.

  • Class Duration: 1.5 hours on Friday, April 3 and 17
  • Age Requirements: 13-Adult, 11-12 with accompanying adult
  • Recommended Prerequisite: None
  • Required Skills: None
  • Materials Fee: None

Materials : Students must bring the following materials to class in order to successfully complete the project.

  • 200g/400 yards of worsted weight yarn(size 4) or 250-300g of DK (size 3 yarn) 
  • 40" circular needle 2 sizes larger than the recommended needle size of the yarn
  • darning needle
  • scissors

About the branch

Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
