Virtual Melrose Classroom 2Join us and create a third-person game while learning the UE5 editor interface, Blueprint basics, third-person character setup, Enhanced Input System, character animation basics, and UI programming.
This is an online class conducted using Zoom. Please make sure to provide your email address during registration to participate. Before the event, you will receive an email from your event host containing a link to access the Zoom session. Alternatively, you can view and join virtual events by visiting attend.ocls.info/myevents.
You will need a computer with internet access and speakers or headphones to participate. A webcam and microphone are recommended as well. Please be aware that by enabling video and audio sharing on Zoom, you consent to appear on camera and share your audio with the group. Please note that this event may be recorded. Out of courtesy to other participants, refrain from taking screenshots, photographs, or sharing information about the participants or the discussion outside of the event.
Android and iOS users must install the Zoom App from the App Store or Play Store. Note that interactivity may be limited on mobile devices. Additional information will be provided in the email from your event host.

Part 1: Unreal Engine Fundamentals - Monday, August 10, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Create a development environment and learn the Unreal Engine's interface, how to manipulate and edit game objects, and the basic workflow for creating video games with Unreal.
Part 2: Unreal: Blueprint Programming Basics - Tuesday, August 11, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Create a program that controls the movements of a game object when changing input values at runtime in Unreal with Blueprints.
Part 3: Unreal: Third-Person Blueprint Programming - Wednesday, August 12, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Create a program to manipulate a third-person game's point of view with input values, and learn the core concepts around developing a third-person game.
Part 4: Unreal: Enhanced Input System Blueprint Programming - Thursday, August 13, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Set up the Enhanced Input System to collect input values from an input device and trigger a game character's locomotion behaviors.
Part 5: Unreal: Character Animations Blueprint - Friday, August 14, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Animate the game's character with animation blueprints.
Part 6: Unreal: UI Basics- Monday, August 17, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Learn how to use Unreal's UI tools and Blueprints to create a user interface for your game.
