Virtual Room - EPDJoin calligrapher Elinor A. Holland for a virtual workshop on uncial style calligraphy - an ancient script with unique letterforms and rich history. Registration required.
Learn to hand-letter in a style that was pivotal in the history of writing. With its subtle beauty, unique letterforms, and texture, uncial script was used by scribes to pen religious texts between the 3rd and 8th centuries AD. No prior calligraphy experience is needed to try your hand at this marvelous calligraphy style, and calligraphy pens and paper will be provided.

Elinor A. Holland is a calligrapher of Arabic and Latin scripts. She teaches regularly for the New York Society of Scribes and colleges, art centers, and museums in the U.S. and Canada including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the American Museum of Natural History, and The Smithsonian Institute. She has exhibited her artwork in Kuwait, Sharjah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and the throughout the U.S.
