Build and program machines with LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime. Apply STEAM concepts and the engineering design process with hands-on learning. Recommended for ages 6-12. Registration required.

    Students will:

    • Follow instructions to build project
    • Program the components
    • Bugfix, change, and improve the program

    Required Skills: 1st Grade Reading and Writing Level, Keyboard and Mouse Proficiency

    *For the safety and comfort of children, a responsible adult or caregiver must accompany children 10 years of age or younger while they are using the Library. If there is available space, you are welcome to join your child in class. If not, or you would rather not join class, you must wait within view of classroom door.

    About the branch

    Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
