With this confident beginner project, you can make a cute felt toadstool for display in our 2024 Yarnfiti Community Art Project: Enchanted Forest!

  • Class Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Age Requirements: 13-Adult
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Let's Embroider Level 1
  • Required Skills: Ability to hoop fabric, thread a needle, execute basic embroidery stitches.

Suggested Materials: Students can choose to bring the following materials to complete the project:

  • 1 sheet each of craft felt (red and white, scraps of green and other embellishments)
  • Cotton Embroidery Floss (match felt and any additional preferred colors)
  • Buttons (optional embellishment, a ladybug would be cute!)
  • Personal embroidery tools as you prefer.

**Fabric and materials are available for your first class from a limited selection. 

Note: Beginning embroidery skills are necessary to be successful in this class.  New to embroidery? Check out the Fiber Arts Lib Guide.

About the branch

Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
