Online Class: Sewing - Potholders

Ready for your first sewing project or just want to make a unique potholder for your kitchen? Learn to make a simple and easy potholder with fabric and batting.
Required Materials:
- 1 – Fat quarter of 100% cotton fabric
- Batting
Note: You will need several layers if you are making these to protect from heat. - Scissors or rotary cutter and mat
- Fabric marker that won’t show through your fabric
- 100% cotton thread
- Ruler or 10” x 10” template.
- Optional but helpful is a walking foot for your sewing machine.
WARNING: You can use other types of fabric for making a potholder for practice but they are not heat resistant and may melt.

- Required Skills: Students must be able to wind a bobbin, thread a sewing machine, change stitch selections, read patterns and cut fabric.
