Practice machine and hand sewing to whip up an adorable owl friend just in time for spooky season. Happy to sit in a window or a table, this little owl is weighted and features button eyes.

Class Duration: 3 hours
Age Requirements: Adult with a completed Sewing Lab Waiver
Required Skills: Someone who is comfortable with working and threading sewing machines, sewing patterns with markings and notations, has an understanding of fabric types and interfacing, and has experience with using a variety of tools, notions, and presser feet.
Materials Fee: None
Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)
Required Materials: Students must bring the following materials to complete the project: 

Pattern: Adorable Owls - Sew Can She
Recommended Fabrics: Cotton 

  • 2 fat quarters, recommended to use high contrast fabrics
  • All other materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring two buttons for the eyes if desired

LYNX Bus Link 27 Ocoee / Winter Garden

West Oaks Branch and Genealogy Center is located in the historic city of Ocoee near the intersection of Silver Star and Clark Roads. The branch opened in August 2001 and was designed by Harvard, Jolly, Clees, Toppe Architecture Firm. West Oaks Branch provides exceptional library services to the nearly 50,000 residents of Ocoee and surrounding areas. In January 2015, the branch became the new Genealogy Center for Orange County, housing a collection of over 30,000 genealogy books. The Library is the official repository of the Florida State Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The construction of West Oaks Branch and Genealogy Center was funded by the Library System and a Florida Library Construction Grant.
