Fiber Arts Studio - Second Floor

Join me for a fun and super-easy Beanie Hat class! These hats are quick to make, inexpensive, and just the right amount of cozy for Florida weather.

This project is so fast, you’ll practically be done before you know it—almost fast enough to leave the car running! But don’t. 😂 I bet you can not make two!

Class Duration: 1hour 
Age Requirements: Adult, 18 and up.ad

Recommended Prerequisite: Introduction to the Sereger machines.
Required Skills: Students must know how to operate and use a serger and have rotery cutting skills before attending this class. No serger training or instruction will be provided during the class.

Materials provided

We will be using stretchy fabric if you would like to bring own, about 15 inches should do. 

Description Level
Beginner
Someone has used a sewing machine before but may need aid on threading the machine and may need additional practice keeping an even seam allowance.
Confident Beginner
Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types and has completed several projects.
Intermediate
Someone who is comfortable with working and threading sewing machines, sewing patterns with markings and notations, has an understanding of fabric types and interfacing, and has experience with using a variety of tools, notions, and presser feet.
Advanced
Someone who is comfortable with working and threading both sewing machines and sergers, sewing patterns with markings and notations, has an understanding of both woven and knit fabric types and interfacing, and has experience using a wide variety of tools, notions, and presser feet.

Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in Orlando Public Library include Children’s, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children’s Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity is located on the second floor. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
