Southwest - Ask at Desk

Drive Dash the robot. Learn about robots and control Dash's motion, colors and sounds. Drive Dash through an obstacle course to the finish line. Recommended for ages 6-12. Registration required.

Students will: 

  • Set the lights and sounds of Dash robots
  • Drive Dash robots through an obstacle course
  • Code Dash robots

Required Skills: 1st Grade Reading and Writing Level, Keyboard and Mouse Proficiency.  
 
* For children’s safety and comfort, a responsible adult/caregiver must accompany children age 10 and under while using the library. Caregivers may join the class if space allows; otherwise, they must wait within view of the classroom door.

About the branch

Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
