Join us and create a third-person character while learning the UE5 editor interface, Blueprint basics, third-person character setup, and the Enhanced Input System.
These are online classes conducted using Zoom. Please make sure to provide your email address during registration to participate. Before the event, you will receive an email from your event host containing a link to access the Zoom session. Alternatively, you can view and join virtual events by visiting attend.ocls.info/myevents.
You will need a computer with internet access and speakers or headphones to participate. A webcam and microphone are recommended as well. Please be aware that by enabling video and audio sharing on Zoom, you consent to appear on camera and share your audio with the group. Please note that this event may be recorded. Out of courtesy to other participants, refrain from taking screenshots, photographs, or sharing information about the participants or the discussion outside of the event.
Android and iOS users must install the Zoom App from the App Store or Play Store. Note that interactivity may be limited when using a mobile device. Additional information will be provided in the email from your event host.
Please note that the Unreal Engine is recommended but not required for this class. You can download It from the following link: https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US

Part 1: Unreal Engine Fundamentals - Tuesday, April 29, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Create a development environment and learn the Unreal Engine's interface, how to manipulate and edit game objects, and the basic workflow for creating video games with Unreal.
Part 2: Unreal: Blueprint Programming Basics - Wednesday, April 30, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Create a program that controls the movements of a game object when changing input values at runtime in Unreal with Blueprints.
Part 3: Unreal: Third-Person Blueprint Programming - Thursday, May 1, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Create a program to manipulate a third-person game's point of view with input values, and learn the core concepts around developing a third-person game.
Part 2: Unreal: Enhanced Input System Blueprint Programming - Friday, May 2, 4 - 5:30 p.m.
Set up the Enhance Input System to collect input values from an input device and trigger a game character's locomotion behaviors.
