This is a Yarnfiti project.  Yarnfiti is a community collaborated project.

Note: Basic Knitting skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to knitting? Check out Let's Knit Level 1.

  • Class Duration: This is an  4-part in-person class April 16, 30, May 7, & 21 .
  • Age Requirements:18+
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Let's Knit Increases and Decreases
  • Recommended Skills: Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns.

Required Materials:

  • Printed pattern: https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2013/02/10/whits-knits-knit-hedgehogs/
  • Main Yarn: approximately 128 yards of a worsted weight yarn for the top of the body
  • Contrast Yarn: approximately 150 yards) of a DK weight yarn for the belly, face, ears
  • A set of US 4 (3.5 mm) double pointed needles or double pointed needles 1-2 sizes smaller than the recommended needle size for your contrast yarn
  • A set of US 8 (5 mm) double pointed needles or double pointed needles 1-2 sizes smaller than the recommended needle size for your contrast yarn
  • Stuffing
  • Scrap yarn in a heavy worsted or chunky weight for the eyes and nose

Level Description
Beginner Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid.
Confident Beginner Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns.
Intermediate Someone who can follow most patterns with ease, is able to read stitches and charts, and to whom working in the round is no longer a challenge.
Advanced Someone who can adjust patterns to their own preferences, substitute yarn, and produce neat results consistently in flat, round, lace, and three-dimensional projects.

This is a Virtual Event hosted through Zoom. Please provide your email at registration to participate. You will receive an email with a link to access the Zoom before the event from your event host. Zoom log-in information will be shared no later than one hour before start of event. A computer with access to the internet and speakers or headsets are required. A webcam and microphone are suggested to fully participate. If using a mobile device, Android and iOS users must install the Zoom App (App Store | Play Store). About the branch

Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
