This project is a 4-part series with classes on Tuesdays. A pattern is provided but students can use any granny square motif of their choosing. Students are required to bring materials.

What to crochet if you are a beginner? What to crochet if you are an expert? The answer to both is a GRANNY SQUARE! The granny square can be as simple or as complex as your skill and patience allow, making project opportunities essentially limitless. In this series we will discuss resources, create Granny Squares, and explore a variety of techniques to join them. Students will have a choice of two motifs and two different bag styles to create from their squares.

Level | Description |
Beginner | Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid. |
Confident Beginner | Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns. |
Intermediate | Someone who can follow most patterns with ease, is able to read stitches and charts, and to whom working in the round is no longer a challenge. |
Advanced | Someone who can adjust patterns to their own preferences, substitute yarn, and produce neat results consistently in flat, round, lace, and three-dimensional projects. |

The Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The Library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in the Orlando Public Library include Children's, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children's Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Technology and Education Center is located on the second floor and includes the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
