Join professional belly dancer, Helen Blondel, as she teaches the fundamentals of belly dance using a step-by-step approach. Learn an overview of the history & social significance of belly dancing and a fun new creative art form that's also great for fitness & self-expression!

Helen is a professional belly dancer & singer and has appeared on televised programs such as "American Idol" on ABC, "Despierta America" and "Sabado Gigante" on Univision. Now with over 700,000 followers on TikTok, Helen's goal is to educate the public about the beautiful art of belly dance. Earlier this year, Helen founded her clothing line, BellyPOP in addition to her online school offering courses in belly dance, social media, & entertainment business. She is the author of the instructional book "Belly Dance Business 101" and has released 5 self-written music singles that incorporate her shared love for singing and dance. Her passion is showing people they can be whatever they want to be if they put their heart to it!

About the branch

Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
