New to sewing and ready for that first simple project? These easy to make coasters, based on the four square quilt block design, make great gifts for many occasions.

They are fast and easy to make and look great on a desk or coffee or table.

Learn simple sewing and quilting techniques in this project class.

  • Class Duration: 2 hours 
  • Age Requirements: 13-17
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Sewing: Introduction to the Sewing Machine (Not required for this class)
  • Required Skills: Participants must be able to cut with scissors
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)

About the branch

West Oaks Branch and Genealogy Center is located in the historic city of Ocoee near the intersection of Silver Star and Clark Roads. The branch opened in August 2001 and was designed by Harvard, Jolly, Clees, Toppe Architecture Firm. West Oaks Branch provides exceptional library services to the nearly 50,000 residents of Ocoee and surrounding areas. In January 2015, the branch became the new Genealogy Center for Orange County, housing a collection of over 30,000 genealogy books. The Library is the official repository of the Florida State Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The construction of West Oaks Branch and Genealogy Center was funded by the Library System and a Florida Library Construction Grant.
