Sewing Bootcamp - Quilting (12-Part)
Confident Beginner Level

Fiber Arts Studio - Second FloorStart sewing quilts today! In this bootcamp learn the basics of quilting while creating a two-color quilt. Students will make half triangle blocks, sew the quilt top, back and bind their quilts.
Class series runs Wednesdays, April 26-July 12 from 12:30pm-2:30pm
- Class Duration: 12 parts, 2 hours each part
- Age Requirements: Adult
- Recommended Prerequisite: None
- Required Skills: Confident Beginner Level sewists can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance. They can thread sewing machines and wind a bobbin. Cofindent Beginners have a basic understanding of different fabric types and have completed several projects.
- Materials Fee: None
- Out of District Fee: $120 (includes class and materials fees)

Required Materials: Students should have the following materials to complete the project*:
For baby sized two-color quilt:
- Fabric A: 1 and 1/4 yards - Quilting cotton in small-scale prints, solids, or near solids
- Fabric B: 1 and 1/4 yards - Quilting cotton in small-scale prints, solids, or near solids
- Backing: 3 yards - Quilting cotton in small-scale prints, solids, or near solids
- Binding: 1/3 yards - Quilting cotton in small-scale prints, solids, or near solids
- Batting: Low-loft cotton batting, crib sized

Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in Orlando Public Library include Children’s, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children’s Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity is located on the second floor. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
