Sewing - Vintage Circle Skirt (4-Part)

Fiber Arts Studio - Second FloorCelebrate Pi Day with a handmade circle skirt. Learn to make a vintage circle skirt with pockets, a lapped zipper and a waist band. Students are required to bring fabric.

- Class Duration: 2 Hours each day, 4 days
- Age Requirements: Adult
- Recommended Prerequisite: Introduction to the Sewing Machine, Patterns and Fabric
- Required Skills: Students must be able to proficiently use a standard sewing machine, read patterns and cut fabric and experience sewing in zippers.
- Materials Fee: None
- Out of District Fee: $40
Students are required to bring materials:

We recommend light- to medium-weight wovens

- Interfacing for waistband (look for lightweight woven, weft, or tricot types)
- ¼ yard fusible interfacing or roll of 1¼-inch-wide (3 cm) fusible stay tape to stabilize zipper opening
- 7-inch zipper
- Hook and bar closure

Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in Orlando Public Library include Children’s, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children’s Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity is located on the second floor. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
