Online Fiber Arts ClassroomUse embroidery floss to make a tassel (or two) for a necklace or a pair of earrings. Recommended for ages 13-18. Registration required.
- Class Duration: 1 hour
- Age Requirements: 13-18
- Recommended Prerequisite Class: None
- Required Skills: Ability to measure with a ruler and cut with scissors, basic knot tying, fine motor skills for manipulating yarn and other materials.
Required Materials: Students should have the following materials to complete the project*:
- One skein of embroidery floss, any color, like DMC Embroidery floss
- One small square of cardboard
- Optional Earring and/or necklace notions (Earrings: Hoops or Hooks, Necklace clasps & Cord Crimps)
- Yarn or Cord for necklaces or bracelets (Nylon Cord or Yarn)
- Ruler
- Scissors
- *If you do not have the suggested materials, please use any materials you have on hand. At the start of class, please inform the instructor if you are using materials other than those suggested.
This is an online class hosted through Zoom. You will receive an email with a link to access Zoom before the event.
A computer with access to the internet and speakers or headsets are required. A webcam and microphone are suggested to fully participate. Please note that Zoom allows you to share your video and audio with the group. If you choose to enable these settings, you are consenting to appear on audio and video. This event is not being recorded and we ask that out of courtesy to the other participants, please refrain from screen captures, photography or resharing information about the participants or the discussion outside of this event.
If using a mobile device, Android and iOS users must install the Zoom App (App Store | Play Store). However, please note interactivity may be limited.
