Technology ClassroomUse the diagonal double half hitch knot to make this fun mermaid tail keychain for Mer-May!
- Class Duration: 1.5 hours
- Age Requirements: 13-Adult
- Recommended Prerequisite: None
- Required Skills: Ability to measure with a ruler and cut with scissors, basic knot tying, has done some macramé before
- Materials Fee: None
Suggested Materials: Students should have the following materials to complete the project*:
- At least 6 yards of 3mm macramé cord (like Bead Landing Cotton Cord, something that can comb easily into a fringe at the end)
- Key Ring (recommended with D-Ring, like Loops & Threads)
- Wooden beads (like Creatology wooden beads, optional)
If you do not have the suggested materials, the library has a limited supply. Students are encouraged to have their own materials in the event that the project is not completed within the class time.

Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
