Ribbing is the perfect for hats, scarves, socks and sweaters. Learn how to cast on with the long tail method, knit ribbing, and how to use a stretchy bind off in this class.

  • Class Duration: 2 hours
  • Age Requirements: 13-Adult, 11-12 with accompanying adult
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Let's Knit Level 2
  • Required Skills: Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid.
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)

Required Materials: Students should have the following materials to complete the project:

  • Yarn: Size 4/medium weight yarn
  • Needles: US 8 (5.0 mm) needles

Note: Knitting skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to knitting? Check out Let's Knit Level 1.

Level Description
Beginner Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid.
Confident Beginner Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns.
Intermediate Someone who can follow most patterns with ease, is able to read stitches and charts, and to whom working in the round is no longer a challenge.
Advanced Someone who can adjust patterns to their own preferences, substitute yarn, and produce neat results consistently in flat, round, lace, and three-dimensional projects.
