Join this 10-part class series and learn how to model, texture, rig, and animate a character for a video game.
This class series is designed to teach the entire workflow of creating a character for a video game from scratch. It is broken down into four skills. Parts 1 - 4, modeling. Parts 5 and 6, texturing. Parts 7 - 9, rigging. Part 10 is animating. You can register and attend the entire series or pick and choose the skills that interest you most.

This is an online class conducted using Zoom. Please make sure to provide your email address during registration to participate. Before the event, you will receive an email from your event host containing a link to access the Zoom session. Alternatively, you can view and join virtual events by visiting attend.ocls.info/myevents.
You will need a computer with internet access and speakers or headphones to participate. A webcam and microphone are recommended. Please be aware that by enabling video and audio sharing on Zoom, you consent to appear on camera and share your audio with the group. Please note that this event may be recorded. Out of courtesy to other participants, refrain from taking screenshots, photographs, or sharing information about the participants or the discussion outside of the event.
Android and iOS users must install the Zoom App from the App Store or the Play Store. Note that interactivity may be limited when using a mobile device. Additional information will be provided in the email from your event host.

Create the base of a stylized 3D character and learn some of the most commonly used tools, techniques, and concepts involved with polygonal modeling in Blender.
Part 3 - Blender: Modeling a Character's Head - Wednesday, February 18, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Model a 3D Character's head and learn a basic workflow for creating proper topology and facial features optimized for animations.
Part 4 - Blender: Modeling a Character's Hand - Thursday, February 19, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Model a 3D Character's Hand and learn the basic workflow for hand topology optimized for animations.
Part 5 - Blender: Texturing Fundamentals - Friday, February 20, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Texture a six-sided die and learn the most commonly used tools, techniques, and concepts related to texturing in Blender.
Part 6 - Blender: UV Mapping a Character - Monday, February 23, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Create the UV Map of a 3D character and learn the most common tools and techniques involved with UV Mapping in Blender.
Part 7 - Blender: Rigging Fundamentals - Tuesday, February 24, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Create a Rig for a Character's arm and learn the most commonly used tools, techniques, and concepts related to Rigging in Blender.
Part 8 - Blender: Create an FK-IK Control System - Wednesday, February 25, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Create an animator control system for a 3D Character's arm with a forward and inverse kinematic switcher.
Part 9 - Blender: Rigging with Rigify - Thursday, February 26, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Create an Animator Control System for a 3D Character using Blender's Rigify Addon and learn the common workflow and how to overcome setup pitfalls.
Part 10 - Blender: Game Character Animation Basics - Friday, February 27, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Animate a character's walk cycle and learn the basic tools and techniques for creating animation sequences for video game characters.
