We will use The Rye Socks Pattern by Tin Can Knits This basic sock pattern is knit top-down, cast on at the cuff, then worked in the round to the heel. Skills we will learn are: ▪ Working in the Round with dpns ▪ Short Row Shaping ▪ Picking up Stitches ▪ Grafting
Note: An accurate foot measurement is required for this class. Be prepared to measure your foot or bring a foot measurement from the back of the heel to the longest toe and around the widest part of your foot to the first class. |

Please Note: Students must bring a printed copy of pattern or be able to access it on a mobile device.
Pattern: Rye Socks by Tin Can Knits, available in the app or in PDF format.
These socks comes in many sizes and can be knit in 3 different weights of yarn, Rye Worsted, Rye DK or Rye Sock.

Note: Intermediate Knitting Skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to knitting? Check out Knit Level 1.

Built in 2005, Winter Garden branch sits at the westernmost part of Orange County. This was the last branch opened before the Great Recession of 2008. Interestingly, this is the only branch in the county built on donated land. Two acres were donated by the family of former citrus grove owner, Sylvester C. Battaglia. S.C. Battaglia’s philosophy, as stated by his son, was to “give back to the community.” The branch’s formal name S.C. Battaglia Memorial Branch, honors his contribution.
Winter Garden Branch has all the charm of a small town library plus all of the resources available through Orange County Library System. Noted for friendly and helpful staff, the branch is now serving a third generation of patrons.
