Take the fashion world by storm! We will teach you everything you need to know to start sewing like a pro. Create a simple and easy tote bag perfect for shopping, the beach or running errands.

Learn to sew your own tote bag from start to finish!

  • Class Duration: 2 hours
  • Age Requirements: Ages 13–Adult with a completed Sewing Lab Waiver. Ages 13-17 must have a parent or guardian present to complete the Sewing Lab Waiver.
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Introduction to the Sewing Machine 
  • Required Skills: Students should be able to use a standard sewing machine and read patterns.
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)

We provide fabric for your first time taking this class/series, but you are welcome to bring one yard of cotton fabric of your choice to make your bag more customized!

LYNX Bus Link 27 Ocoee / Winter Garden

West Oaks Branch and Genealogy Center is located in the historic city of Ocoee near the intersection of Silver Star and Clark Roads. The branch opened in August 2001 and was designed by Harvard, Jolly, Clees, Toppe Architecture Firm. West Oaks Branch provides exceptional library services to the nearly 50,000 residents of Ocoee and surrounding areas. In January 2015, the branch became the new Genealogy Center for Orange County, housing a collection of over 30,000 genealogy books. The Library is the official repository of the Florida State Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The construction of West Oaks Branch and Genealogy Center was funded by the Library System and a Florida Library Construction Grant.
