Design and paint a beautiful tile inspired by the intricate patterns used throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Recommended for ages 13-18.
Participants will learn the history and meaning of the mosaic patterns used throughout Arabia and North Africa to be able to design their own. Participants will think flexibly and create original work while utilizing skills such as math, painting, and sketching. Recommended for teens ages 13-18. Registration required.
Learning Objective: Teens will display an ability to communicate, connect, and collaborate with others as well as create a stylized tile that reflects and demonstrates meaning inspired by the large group activity.

South Trail Branch is located in the Orange Blossom Center, a shopping center next to numerous multi-family housing units. It is a welcoming and colorful library full of sunshine and a popular spot for children and families.
South Trail Branch began in 1965 as the Fort Gatlin Branch at 105 Gatlin Avenue and moved to the corner of Holden Avenue and South Orange Blossom Trail in 1981. The move across the street to the current site in the Orange Blossom Center took place in 1996.
