- Required Skills: 1st Grade Reading and Writing Level, Keyboard and Mouse Proficiency
- Recommended Skills: Experience using a web browser, Gaming Experience
- Prerequisite Class: None
*For the safety and comfort of children, a responsible adult or caregiver must accompany children 10 years of age or younger while they are using the Library. If there is available space, you are welcome to join your child in class. If not, or you would rather not join class, you must wait within view of classroom door.

If you would like your student to get the most out of this class, create a free MakeCode Account for them and bring their login information. This will ensure that their work is saved on their accounts, and they will be able to continue working at home. Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in Orlando Public Library include Children’s, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children’s Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity is located on the second floor. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
