Online Fiber Arts ClassroomThe gifting series is all about knitting gifts to give or accent gifts. The bear ornaments are knit flat with i-Cord limbs and seamed.
Note: Basic Knitting skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to knitting? Check out Let's Knit Level 1.
- Class Duration: This is an online class on Monday, October 28 from 10:30am-12:00pm.
- Age Requirements:18+
- Recommended Prerequisite: Let's Knit Increases and Decreases
- Recommended Skills: Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns.
Required Materials: The instructor will email a link to the pattern and specific list of required materials to students prior to class.
- Pattern
- 1 pair of size 1 (2.25mm) straight knitting needles for knitting the head and body of the bear * see note below
- 1 set of size 1 (2.25mm) double pointed needles for working the i-Cord for the limbs* see note below
- scrap amount of (up to size dk) yarn in red (Yarn A)
- scrap amount of (up to size dk) yarn white (for the dress of the bear)(Yarn B)
- scrap amounts of bear color yarn (Yarn C)
- Scraps of black yarn, for the eyes and nose
- A couple of 8 inch lengths of yarn for gathering in the top of the head and the neck.
- small circle of felt to reinforce the stitching on the face (optional)
- small amount of poly-fil for stuffing
- 6 inch length of ribbon for hanging loop
- scissors
- darning needle for weaving in the ends
*note: pattern is knit flat --feel free to use a size 1 16" or less circular needle as a straight needle and the dpn
