Hand-sew some cute decorations to make your own festive seasonal garland. Best for ages 10+. This program is intended for families, whatever family means to you.

  • Class Duration: 1 hour
  • Age Requirements: Families, children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Required Skills: None
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)

Students can choose to bring the following materials: 

  • 1 or 2 sheets each of craft felt (leaf colors, orange for pumpkins, or even white for ghosts - whatever you like!)
  • Embroidery Needle 
  • Cotton Embroidery Floss (bring colors to go with your decor and match your felt)
  • Twine or yarn (for the garland)
  • Craft glue (like Tacky Craft Glue)

**The library will provide a limited selection of materials.

We will be hand-sewing decorations with felt, so be ready to thread a needle and sew a simple running stitch!

About the branch

Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
