Sewing - Fabric Pumpkins

Washington Park - Technology ClassroomWe will teach you everything you need to know to start sewing like a pro. Learn to use hand sewing to add depth to your pumpkin.

Class Duration: 1.5 hours
- Age Requirements: 10+

- Materials Fee: None
- Out of District Fee: 10$ per day
- Students are required to wear closed-toe shoes to this camp. Students with medium-long length hair should tie hair back.
Students may bring the following materials. A limited selection of colors and fabric texture will be provided, but if you have a specific idea of what you want your project to look like, please bring your preferred fabric!
- fabric – lightweight upholstery (cotton or even velvet)
- matching thread for sewing machine
- embroidery thread or other strong thread for wrapping the pumpkin
stuffing - brown felt or pipe cleaner for the stem
- stuffing and or fabric scraps for stuffing

Washington Park Branch serves the Carver Shores and Metrowest areas, along with the many other subdivisions and local businesses surrounding it. The Washington Park branch has a history that dates back to 1924. It is a combination of the former Booker T. Washington and Washington Shores Libraries. The two branches combined as one and opened in this current location on April 11, 1984. Although small, the glass walls on the front and back of the building create a bright, airy and comfortable atmosphere.
