Share in the magic as we create an enchanted forest of handcrafted art. Usually solitary, a group of owls is called a “parliament.” Help knit our own parliament of owls to watch over the forest.

Learn and advance your skills while knitting adorable owls.  You will have the option of choosing between 2 patterns,  Lion Brand Snow Owl Pattern, or Obligatory owl by Sara Elizabeth Kellner, 
Skills will include working on double pointed needles, increases, decreases, picking up stitches, short rows to add shaping, and working in the round.   

This is a Yarnfiti Project.  Yarnfiti is a community collaborated project, and once finished, you can submit your project for display in this year's Enchanted Forest themed Yarnfiti display.

Note: Basic to Intermediate Knitting skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to knitting?  Check out Let's Knit Level 1.

  • Class Duration: This is a 4-part in-person class May 4, 18, June 1, & 15
  • Age Requirements:18+
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Let's Knit Increases and Decreases
  • Recommended Skills: Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns.

**Required Materials: students must bring the following materials to complete the project:

  • Worsted weight yarn
        Color A (for body) 80 yards
        Color B (for top of head and wings) 80 yards
        Color C (for beak) 1 yard
  • Size 4 (3.5mm) double pointed needles
  • Darning needle
  • Stuffing
  • Two buttons or Scrap yarn in a heavy worsted or chunky weight for the eyes 
  • Ring/round stitch markers

Level Description
Beginner Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid.
Confident Beginner Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns.
Intermediate Someone who can follow most patterns with ease, is able to read stitches and charts, and to whom working in the round is no longer a challenge.
Advanced Someone who can adjust patterns to their own preferences, substitute yarn, and produce neat results consistently in flat, round, lace, and three-dimensional projects.
