This quick and easy basket can be used all around the house in fabric that matches your decor! We will be learning how to work with interfacing for this class.

  • Class Duration: 2 hours
  • Age Requirements: Adult, 18 and up.
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Sewing - Introduction to the Sewing Machine, Patterns and Fabric
  • Required Skills: Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types and has completed several projects.

Required Materials: Materials will be provided for class, but if you would like to choose your own fabric, you may bring: 

  • Recommended Fabrics: Cotton Blends, Cotton Shirting, Cotton Lawn, Challis, Polished Cotton. Designed for medium-weight woven fabrics.
  • 1 fat quarter of outside fabric
  • 1 fat quarter of lining fabric

Note: Machine sewing skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to sewing? Check out Introduction to the Sewing Machine.

Level Description
Beginner Someone has used a sewing machine before but may need aid on threading the machine and may need additional practice keeping an even seam allowance.
Confident Beginner Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types and has completed several projects.
Intermediate Someone who is comfortable with working and threading sewing machines, sewing patterns with markings and notations, has an understanding of fabric types and interfacing, and has experience with using a variety of tools, notions, and presser feet.
Advanced Someone who is comfortable with working and threading both sewing machines and sergers, sewing patterns with markings and notations, has an understanding of both woven and knit fabric types and interfacing, and has experience using a wide variety of tools, notions, and presser feet.
