¡Toma el mundo de la moda por sorpresa! Te enseñaremos todo lo que necesitas saber para coser como una profesional. Crea un bolso de mano simple y fácil, perfecto para ir de compras o hacer recados.

Aprenda a coser su propio bolso de principio a fin utilizando patrones profesionales, tela de su elección y máquinas de coser profesionales en esta serie de clases de 2 días.

  • Duracion de la clase: 2 días, 2 horas por día
  • Edades Requeridas: 13-Adultos con el relevo de responsabilidad completado Sewing Lab Waiver, 11-12 con la supervisión de un adulto y el relevo de responsabilidad  completado Sewing Lab Waiver
  • Prerequisito Recomendado: Introducción a la Máquina de Coser
  • Destrezas Requeridas: Alguien que pueda coser costuras rectas y curvas manteniendo un margen de costura constante, que pueda enhebrar una máquina estándar y enrollar una bobina, que tenga conocimientos básicos de diferentes tipos de telas y que haya completado varios proyectos.

Sewing - Tote Bag (2 Parts)

Take the fashion world by storm! We will teach you everything you need to know to sew like a professional. Create a simple and easy tote bag, perfect for shopping or running errands.

Learn how to sew your own bag from start to finish using professional patterns, fabric of your choice, and professional sewing machines in this 2-day class series.

  • Class Duration: 2 Parts , 2 hours each part
  • Age Requirements: 13-Adult with completed Sewing Lab Waiver, 11-12 with supervising adult and completed Sewing Lab Waiver
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Sewing - Introduction to the Sewing Machine
  • Required Skills: Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types and has completed several projects.
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)

*Students must bring the following materials:

  • 1 yard of cotton or *canvas fabric (for the outside of the bag) (*no stabilizer need it)
  • 1 Yard of 100% cotton contrast fabric (for the inside of the bag)
  • Thread (all purpose)
  • Optional: 1 yard of Stabilizer (Pellon Mid weight 40 stabilizer)

Level Description
Beginner Someone has used a sewing machine before but may need aid on threading the machine and may need additional practice keeping an even seam allowance.
Confident Beginner Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types and has completed several projects.
Intermediate Someone who is comfortable with working and threading sewing machines, sewing patterns with markings and notations, has an understanding of fabric types and interfacing, and has experience with using a variety of tools, notions, and presser feet.
Advanced Someone who is comfortable with working and threading both sewing machines and sergers, sewing patterns with markings and notations, has an understanding of both woven and knit fabric types and interfacing, and has experience using a wide variety of tools, notions, and presser feet.

About the branch

LYNX Bus Link 41 State Road 436

North Orange Branch began as a bookmobile station in 1950, and was replaced by a branch in 1964. Moving to the Palm Plaza Shopping Center in 1969, the branch occupied a 3500 square foot space there for twenty years. In 1989 the branch moved to its present 12,000 square foot facility. As the name implies, North Orange Branch serves the areas of Apopka, Plymouth, Zellwood, Tangerine, and environs.
