Winter Garden - Technology Lab

Carry your dice or small treasures in style. Learn how to knit a drawstring bag with a honeycomb texture using knit in the round techniques and a 2-color honeycomb brioche stitch.

In this 2-part series running Saturdays, December 2 & 16, from 10:15am-12:15pm, we will practice knitting in the round, working with two colors and learning the honeycomb brioche stitch - a modified version of the brioche stitch which is light, airy and adds plenty of dimension.

We will reference a top down version of The Dice Bag of Minimal Magic by Diana Keyson.  The pattern does not need to be printed, but will be used as a reference for the general structure.

  • Class Duration: 2 parts, 2 hours per part

About the branch

LYNX Bus Link 105 West Colonial

LYNX Bus Link 612 NeighborLink 612 / Winter Garden

Built in 2005, Winter Garden branch sits at the westernmost part of Orange County. This was the last branch opened before the Great Recession of 2008. Interestingly, this is the only branch in the county built on donated land. Two acres were donated by the family of former citrus grove owner, Sylvester C. Battaglia. S.C. Battaglia’s philosophy, as stated by his son, was to “give back to the community.” The branch’s formal name S.C. Battaglia Memorial Branch, honors his contribution.

Winter Garden Branch has all the charm of a small town library plus all of the resources available through Orange County Library System. Noted for friendly and helpful staff, the branch is now serving a third generation of patrons.
