Winter Garden - Technology Lab

Intermediate makers: Create autumn leaves either knitting or crochet! Join us for a 3-week, technique-building series. Bring your favorite yarn and needles OR hooks.

This series guides you through creating individual leaf motifs that can stand alone, use as coasters or be creative and stitch together as a table runner. We'll work intricate shaping patterns, master increases and decreases to form perfect leaf points, and explore beautiful ways to connect standalone motifs into a cohesive heirloom centerpiece.

Note:  This series is designed specifically for intermediate knitters OR crocheters that requires a good grasp of foundational skills.

Built in 2005, Winter Garden branch sits at the westernmost part of Orange County. This was the last branch opened before the Great Recession of 2008. Interestingly, this is the only branch in the county built on donated land. Two acres were donated by the family of former citrus grove owner, Sylvester C. Battaglia. S.C. Battaglia’s philosophy, as stated by his son, was to “give back to the community.” The branch’s formal name S.C. Battaglia Memorial Branch, honors his contribution.

Winter Garden Branch has all the charm of a small town library plus all of the resources available through Orange County Library System. Noted for friendly and helpful staff, the branch is now serving a third generation of patrons.
