Learn how to thread a needle, make a knot and embroider mini butterflies to decorate fabric. Ages 13-18

Materials and scrap fabric are provided  for the class.  Optionally, students may bring an old unwanted pair of jeans or 100% cotton shirt to practice embroidery on.

  • Class Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Age Requirements: 13-18
  • Recommended Prerequisite: None
  • Required Skills: Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid.
  • Materials Fee: None
  • Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)

About the branch

Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
