Hand Sewing Basics

Basic hand sewing skills are essential skills needed in everyday life. Learn the basic techniques to get started, including how to make a quilter's knot, thread a needle and sew a running stitch.

Required Materials:

Students must have the required materials to practice the class activity

• 1 piece of solid color scrap fabric approximately 5"x5"
• Hand sewing needle with an eye that will fit the thread
• scrap amount of 12wt thread , pearl cotton, sashiko thread, or 4 strands of embroidery floss held together
• scissors
• needle threader
• pencil
• ruler

• Class Duration: 1.25 hours
• Age Requirements: 13-Adult

This is a Virtual Event hosted through Zoom. Please provide your email at registration to participate. You will receive an email with a link to access the Zoom before the event from your event host.
