Friday, June 12
1:30pm - 2:30pm
Eatonville Branch
Eatonville - Meeting RoomPrepare to be inspired and create your own pressed floral art, set inside a floating frame with Designer Pamela Johancsik of Bomb Blooms. Recommended for ages 13-18.
In this workshop, Designer Pamela of Bomb Blooms teaches the foundations of flower and leaf pressing to capture beautifully dried botanicals.
She will share tips for creating finished works of art with bundled composition and style, set inside a floating frame.
Flower pressing is an age-old art that at its heart can become a memory-keeping craft to time capsule important events such as graduations, recitals, engagements, anniversaries, weddings, baby showers and even funerals.
With your newly acquired skill, you can preserve florals from an abundant garden harvest or press leaves after a day frolicking through a beautiful meadow of bountiful wildflowers.
Pressed florals make lovely, framed art or special gifts for family and friends.

Eatonville Branch is located in the Town of Eatonville’s Zora Neale Hurston Square. Eatonville is known as the oldest incorporated African American municipality in the United States. Opened January 2005, the branch honors Eatonville resident Zora Neale Hurston (1891–1960), an accomplished and highly acclaimed author of stories, novels, and folklore.
Eatonville Branch is dedicated to promoting reading, especially in children. The branch serves residents that make up the four residential quadrants of Eatonville – Calhoun, Catalina Park, Eaton Pointe, and Lake Lovely Estates. The collection, programs, and services are also available to all Orange County residents including residents of the City of Maitland and Winter Park through reciprocal borrowing.
