Read aloud classics or modern retellings and other great books weekly with discussion. An entire book or short stories will be read aloud over several weeks. No pressure to read aloud. Come to listen! Facilitator-led.
Book selection: The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller.
Ages 18 and up.
Special Note: This is a book club where books are read aloud during the meeting so there's no need to prepare by reading in advance. You do not have to be a good reader in order to participate. The "magic" of this book club format is that participants get to react in the moment to what is being read, unlike traditional book clubs where you read in solitary then come together at a later date to discuss.
Southwest Branch opened on March 21, 1989 in a beautiful Mediterranean style building designed by Schweizer and Associates Architecture Firm, who also designed the Orlando Public Library. Serving the Dr. Phillips and Metrowest communities, Southwest is near International Drive and the attractions. Southwest is a popular place for local adults, children, students and tourists.
