Create colorful toys with just your hands. Use upcycled fabric and yarn to create plush butterflies, mice, snakes, and more. Recommended for ages 6-12. Registration required.

Students will: 

  • Learn how to knit with yarn and their fingers 
  • Measure yarn using rulers 
  • Create finger knit toys 

Required Skills:  

  • Fine motor control for actions such as writing and handling yarn or fabric 
  • Hand-eye coordination for actions such as stitching or weaving 
  • Basic cutting and threading skills 

*For their safety, children 10 and under must have a caregiver in the Library. You’re welcome to join your child in class if space allows, or wait just outside where you can see the classroom door.

LYNX Bus LInk 302 Downtown Disney Direct

Washington Park Branch serves the Carver Shores and Metrowest areas, along with the many other subdivisions and local businesses surrounding it. The Washington Park branch has a history that dates back to 1924. It is a combination of the former Booker T. Washington and Washington Shores Libraries. The two branches combined as one and opened in this current location on April 11, 1984. Although small, the glass walls on the front and back of the building create a bright, airy and comfortable atmosphere.
