Do you remember that special feeling of receiving handwritten letters in the mail? These crochet envelopes are perfect for filling with sweet treats or notes of kindness to share with friends and family.
This beginner friendly class will demonstrate how to crochet an envelope using basic stitches and surface crochet techniques.
- Class Duration: 2 hours
- Age Requirements: Adults, Teens 13+
- Recommended Prerequisite: Crochet Level 1, Crochet Level 2

Required Skills: Chain, Slip Stitch, Single Crochet, Double Crochet
Materials Fee: None - Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)
Required Materials: The following materials are needed to complete the project:
- 1 ball of white yarn (medium weight recommended) for the envelope
Small amount of yarn in red or pink (medium weight recommended) for the lip applique. -
Small amounts of yarn in black (medium weight recommended) for details
G-6 (4.25mm) crochet hook recommended or hook size to match selected yarn - Yarn/tapestry needle
- Scissor

Orlando Public Library is the headquarters and resource center for the Orange County Library System. The library has been located at this site since its beginnings as the Albertson Public Library in 1923. Public Reference Departments in Orlando Public Library include Children’s, Library Central, and Learning Central. The Children’s Library offers spacious areas, special programs, computers and story rooms for our youngest readers and readers to be. The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity is located on the second floor. The Friends of the Library Third Floor Bookstore is open daily and recycles withdrawn and donated books to the community.
