The gifting series is all about knitting gifts to give. The April Hat by Kelbourne Woolens is a technique filled hat which will challenge the knitter with puffs, bobbles, and twisted stitches.

Note: Basic Knitting skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to knitting? Check out Let's Knit Level 1.

Knit gifts take time and this year we are starting early.  Throughout the year, we will be making gifts to give or keep.  Our first gift will be Kelbourne Woolen's April Hat. The hat is full of bobbles and puffs which make it an interesting knit.  

  • Class Duration: This is an  4-part class online on  Mondays, February 3, February 17, March 3, and March 31.
  • Age Requirements:18+
  • Recommended Prerequisite: Let's Knit Increases and Decreases, Knit in the Round
  • Recommended Skills: Knit, purl, knit in the round, reading charts

Required Materials:

  • Printed pattern
  • 220 yards of worsted weight yarn similar to Germantown Kelbourne Woolens
  • US 6 (4mm)16" circular needles for the ribbing
  • US 7 (4.5mm) 16" circular needles for the main part of the hat
  • 1 set of US 7 Double Pointed Needles
  • knitting notions: stitch markers and scissors

Level Description
Beginner Someone who grasps the most basic stitches and can finish simple patterns with aid.
Confident Beginner Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns.
Intermediate Someone who can follow most patterns with ease, is able to read stitches and charts, and to whom working in the round is no longer a challenge.
Advanced Someone who can adjust patterns to their own preferences, substitute yarn, and produce neat results consistently in flat, round, lace, and three-dimensional projects.
