Get ready to dig into the dirt! Learn how the tiny underground workers have a huge impact and create a worm habitat. Recommended for ages 6-12.
Children will create a worm habitat (called a motel in the program) to take home. The worms will be nightcrawlers (Lumbricus terrestris) which can be released in your backyard. There will be discussion on the function of worms in gardens and in the wild. Registration recommended.

The Hiawassee Branch began as a bookmobile station in 1962 and was first known as the Pine Hills Library. In later moves the branch became the West Colonial branch and in March 2000, Hiawassee. In early 2010, the Hiawassee Branch moved to a new home near the corner of Hiawassee Road and West Colonial Drive in the Highland Lakes shopping plaza.
