Foamsmithing is the art of creating props and costumes using different types of foam. You will get hands-on experience using Pepakura, Silhouette Cameo, the Dremel tool among other tools of the trade.
Whether for cosplay or movie prop, the first step into costuming is selecting the material in which it will be constructed. In this two part series we will show you the basic tools and materials you’ll need to get started. Foam comes in all shapes, sizes, density and prices that will fit your budget. We’ll discuss what software to use and where to find easy ready-made templates.
