West Oaks - Technology ClassroomCreate a beautiful shawl to keep you warm through a change of seasons. Learn a new repeating pattern that can grow your shawl to any desired size.
- Class Duration: 2 hours
- Age Requirements: Adult
- Recommended Prerequisite: Let's Crochet in the Round
- Required Skills: Someone who easily handles standard stitches and can follow simple patterns.
- Materials Fee: None
- Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees)
Required Materials: Students must bring the following materials to complete the project:
- Yarn: Size 4/medium weight yarn, 1 ball/skein for class sample, if making full sized shawl ~800-1200 yards
- Hook: H (5.0 mm), I (5.5 mm), J (6.0 mm), or recommended crochet hook based on yarn

West Oaks Branch and Genealogy Center is located in the historic city of Ocoee near the intersection of Silver Star and Clark Roads. The branch opened in August 2001 and was designed by Harvard, Jolly, Clees, Toppe Architecture Firm. West Oaks Branch provides exceptional library services to the nearly 50,000 residents of Ocoee and surrounding areas. In January 2015, the branch became the new Genealogy Center for Orange County, housing a collection of over 30,000 genealogy books. The Library is the official repository of the Florida State Society Daughters of the American Revolution. The construction of West Oaks Branch and Genealogy Center was funded by the Library System and a Florida Library Construction Grant.
